MS SQL Database Administrator

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science / computer engineering or equivalent degree.
• Experience: 10-15 years as DBA Technical Skills.
• Proven experience in management of web based and client-server architecture applications.
• Proven experience in administering databases and applications within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment.
• Proven experience in performing the following tasks in both SQL and Oracle environments:
- Installation, upgrading and updating of new and current software.
- Configuration, tuning and optimization of hardware and software with the system administrator.
- Security administration to monitor and administer SQL and Oracle security including adding and removing users, administering quotas, conducting backups (System administrator) and checking for security problems.
- Proactively monitor SQL and Oracle environment for optimum performance and capacity constraints.
- Good knowledge of Windows Server (2003/2008) and Unix platforms.
• Excellent in English oral and writing skills.

• Certificate in MS SQL.

• Should be well versed with general Mainframe skills:
• Cobol/VSAM/DB2/JCL/CICS.
• DB2, CICS and IMS support in a 24/7 Production Environment.
• Experience with Omegamon.
• Assist in planning, testing and implementing application and system changes in so far as these require IMS DBA or CICS DBA support. This includes participation in upgrades to z/OS operating system and other software components as well as Disaster Recovery testing.
• Assist developers and end users in analyzing and resolving DB2 or CICS application problems. This includes assisting developers with debugging of applications under development and in the production environment assisting the first-level support team in resolving application problems.
• Must have experience on Z/OS.
• Excellent in English oral and writing skills.

• Training in IBM DB2, IBM CICS and IBM IMS
